Flying with Brother Terry
Flying with Brother Terry; Page-3

When we left the next morning we did some climbing near our camping area for pictures and just as we started our decent we saw a familiar looking figure coming rapidly up. Here came my father Bob, 70 years old, to meet us. This was totally unexpected. We again climbed the lower area but were to pooped to make the peak again. So down we go, Bob doing the trip in one shot that took us two days to climb.

We are about to cross over the ridge of 3000 foot Wheeler Mountain. This hill forms the backdrop for my home. Terry and I climbed to the area at the right in 1980 three years before building my house. You can see Lake Riley in the center. My home is off screen to the left.

Here is a high altitute view of my little part of the world; 3-1/2 acres of wooded paradise. I purchased the land in 1977 and built my house there in 1983

My property of 3-1/2 acres is part of the greenbelt from the farm driveway on the left downward past the airplanes wheel pod. As you can see my house is so nestled in the trees that it is invisible when the sun is at a low angle earlier in the morning (time here is about 10am). Looks like I will need to fly over in the afternoon when the sun should light it up better. The trees, mostly hemlock with some cedar, fir and alder, are about 100 feet tall.
